Prayer Shawl Ministry Project

What is a prayer shawl? A prayer shawl is a gift. A gift of love, a gift of healing, a gift of encouragement, a gift of prayer. The shawls we provide are either knitted or crocheted. As each shawl is made, prayers are said for the recipient. We don't always know the name of the individual the shawl is going to be given to, so the prayer may go something like this.....

Father,
We ask your blessing on the wearer of this shawl. Grant them whatever they may need according to your will.
Amen

Or it may be as simple as saying "Father, Son, Holy Spirit" as each stitch or row is completed. This makes God a part of the whole process.

Do you know someone in need of this special gift? Please send an email to candydawson@sbcglobal.net with "Prayer Shawl" as the subject, giving a little background (terminal illness, high risk pregnancy, emotional crisis, etc.) with your contact information. We may not be able to grant all requests as our supplies, and suppliers, are limited. Even if we do not have a shawl available, we will be glad to include the individual in our prayers.

Please note that prayer shawls are not for sale! They are given away freely as an expression of God's love and amazing grace.
